Purple Noodle Bean
The plant produces pods of up to 90 cm that can be cut in shorter pieces to be cooked as green beans. Unlike other purple beans this one retains its colour when cooked. Mix it with yellow and green beans for a very colourful display.
Don’t leave these beans on the stalks to long, they become a bit spongy, its great to see them grow to their full length, however the earlier you pick them the better they will taste.
Plants are vigorous and needs a high trellis. Originating from the Asian tropics these beans do very well at the coast, however our seeds has been well adapted for any part of South Africa.
