The glorious Jaloro Chilli (or Yellow Jalapeno) was developed in the early 90's in Texas, USA as pretty yellow, disease resistant alternative to the Jalapeno. The fruit ripen from a golden yellow (when it is usually used) to red and are slightly more elegantly tapered than their cousins.
The Jaloro Chilli has retained the unmistakable flavour and heat of the Jalapeno but has a refreshing, mildly fruity finish to it. Lovely in pickles and they make a quirky and interesting stuffed chilli.
