Cubanelle Peppers (or Italian Frying Pepper) is a light yellowy green ripening to dark red variety of sweet pepper that originates from the Dominican Republic. The mild, lobed stumpy 10cm - 12cm fruit grow on 60cm - 75cm tall sturdy erect bushes. Great as an ornamental.
Crunchy, zesty fancifully coloured Cubanelle Peppers are usually used when they are light green. They have only an hint of heat and make wonderful snacks if eaten fresh or added to salads. Makes a splendid substitute in any recipe calling for Banana Peppers.
